Novice Rule Clarifications for 2014 from National Feb Board Meeting...

  • To point out of a novice class, exhibitor must earn 200 points for that class AND/OR show in that class at a Regional, Classic, or Specialty Show level and above for two years (whichever comes first).  State Level shows not affected by time limit, only points.
  • When showing in Novice, an exhibitor can either do walk/trot or walk trot lope in the same discipline at the same show.
  • At all state level  shows (not to include Regionals, Classics, Congress, and Specialty and above shows) novice classes are open to any novice rider deemed novice by that club show committee, but only POAC carded novice exhibitors earn National Points in the novice classes entered.
  • Any club can resubmit their show bills to the National POAC to amend their novice classes for 2014 at no charge to the club.
  • In the POAC Novice Youth Program rules, strike 3D referring to allowing novice points earned to count toward non novice high points
  • The High Point Novice Award is a High Point Rider Award with all five novice classes combined.
