Dreams Do Come True
2006 was a dream come true year for me. I have so many
memories and adventures that I will have to start from
the beginning.
In December of 2005 I had to have ACL reconstructive
surgery. Everyone knew it was my goal to be riding in
a month. So, after many grueling physical therapy appointments
and the ok from my Dr. I started preparing for my best
year.
We started out the year in March at Stillwater, Oklahoma.
It was kind of rocky for me getting my knee to last all
day. After spending some time at Tom Wamsley’s
we decided to attend the Mid-America Regional in Wichita
Falls, Tx. That was the beginning of great things yet
to happen. Bobby Sox Plaudit and I rode our way to High
Point 13-18 girl.
We were also High Point at the South-East
Regional, Mid-East Regional, and were Reserve High Point
at the Mid-West Regional. We tied for High Point with
Samantha Gallager and the Crisco Kid at the international.
I couldn’t image sharing
this title with anyone else. She always goes out and
gives her best. Bob and I also won High Point Timed Event
Pony 13-18 and the Large Gelding Stakes award.
The International
was very special to me because I was given the opportunity
to ride RY Major Equity for the Dykstra’s of IA. After only riding him
twice the day of the class, Major and I won the 2&3 year old English Pleasure
Futurity. Thank you Dykstra’s for giving me such
a wonderful opportunity.
Our last stop of the 2006 show
season was the Turkey Circuit in Clarcona, Fl. Although
it was a sad trip for my family, we lost our weanling “Good Ride
Cowboy” to a ruptured stomach, everyone helped
out and we made it through. Bob and I ended up High Point
13-18 once again. Thank you to everyone who helped us
cope with the loss of our baby.
At the close of the 2006
show season Bob and I achieved the Number One in the
Nation Top Ten Award. We were also top in the nation
in Showmanship, Bareback Horsemanship, Horsemanship,
Hunt Seat Equation, Hunter Under Saddle, Western Pleasure,
Timed Event Pony, Jumping Pony, Reining, Western Riding,
Costume, Trail, Sr. Western Please, Sr. Hunter Under
Saddle, Krystal’s Dakota Challenge,
and High Point Overall Equation 13-18.
I would like to thank my parents for hauling me everywhere
and dealing with me. Even when I wasn’t having the best day you were always there for me. I
would also like to thank the families we spent the summer with; Hampton/Morris,
McKenzie’s, Wamsley, Labries, Dykstra’s, Walther’s, Payne/Hari,
Daniel’s, Richardson’s, Horrocks and last but defiantly not last
Sarai and Joyse Banister. I couldn’t image a show without you guys. We
had the best time traveling with you guys. Lindsay, Dacia, Alise, and Sarai are
you ready to go back to the wildlife area in Ohio? Without all of you guys showing
POA’s just wouldn’t be as much fun.
As the 2007 show season begins I look forward to finishing
my youth years on my new junior pony Loud MacCloud and
the best pony anyone could ask for Bobby Sox Plaudit. |
