Lindsay Peaton

The first time I sat Lindsay up on a pony I knew she was going to be a rider. I have always stated that there are riders who make great horses and horses that make great riders. Lindsay has made some great horses through the years and she has truly been on some horses that have made her a great rider.

Lindsay first started showing POA’s when she was 8 months old aboard CSA’s Snap Dragon in the leadline classes. She then moved onto Tough My Tough a year later when leadline showmanship was introduced. When she was four, she moved into the three gaited classes with GJ Little Duke. Lindsay did not want to sit on the side lines anymore during the jumping classes so she started showing DJ’s My Sweet Valentine and then moved on to Billy Bright. Although we found out that Billy could no longer keep up with Lindsay she moved to HMH Color Me Bright and Goldfire her last year in 8 & U. When moving into 9-12 we bought her a junior pony JOF Skippa Scotch better known as Penny. Penny went to Tony and Darren Vincent of Winning Ways Ranch before returning home for Lindsay to ride. Lindsay’s first year with Penny had its ups and downs but hard work and determination has sure paid off. Lindsay now has a new junior pony for her 13-18 classes Skyrock Indigo Moon.

The beginning of 2005 was going strong and Lindsay was excited to show Penny at the first Western Classic show but unfortunately two weeks prior to the show she had colic. Not knowing what to do we opted to try the surgery. This meant losing her best teammate for at least three months. We looked on the bright side and Lindsay decided to ride her pony she had only been gaming for the last eight months, HMH Color Me Bright. Lindsay and Rocky went to work and they ended up with Reserve Overall High Point 9-12 at the Classic. We had two weeks before we left for the International. Lindsay had planned on riding Penny in the futurity classes so we decided to pull out our three year old gelding RBR Plaudit Jim, who she had only ridden once before. A call to Darren Vincent and off the three of them went to California for a week for some fine tunning. It payed off as Lindsay came home with the high point multi-pony and high point gymkhana award at the 2005 POA International.

At the beginning of 2006 Lindsay and I decided to go to Texas for the Mid-America Regional. Since she missed out on the big shows in 2005 with Penny we were anxious to see how she would do. Lindsay had such a great show and came home with an award for the furthest traveled and came home with the high point one/pony one rider award for 9-12. We continued our year by showing at the Southwest Regional in Santa Barbara, California, Rocky Mountain Regional and Western Classic in Utah. Once again, Lindsay packed up with Penny and headed for California for a week with Darren Vincent to get that last minute tune up before going to Missouri. Lindsay along with her three ponies, JOF Skippa Scotch, HMH Color Me Bright and Skyrock Indigo Moon, had a very memorable 2006 POA International and she came home with the High Point Multipony award and 9-12 gymkhana.

Lindsay’s first 13 years of showing POA’s has been very memorable. Lindsay and her ponies have come home with many high point awards which include World, Classic, Regional and International championships. She has also supremed GJ Little Duke, DJ’s My Sweet Valentine, HMH Color Me Bright and JOF Skippa Scotch. I would like to thank the trainers that have helped Lindsay get where she is today. Tony and Darren Vincent of California, Ken Thompson in Scottsdale, Arizona and Pam Stedman in Gilbert, Arizona.
